At a glance

What we build

We shape how your organization looks, sounds, and is remembered: its name, logo, colors, words, and the rules that keep them consistent everywhere.

Every project gets its own squad from our 100+ engineers and designers: a project lead, a product designer, and engineers matched to your stack, with the same people from kickoff to launch.

Our approach

More than a logo

We shape the picture people carry of your organization: what it stands for, how it looks, and how it feels to deal with. The logo is one part. Color, type, words, and the consistency of every touchpoint do the rest, and we build all of it to be used.

People judge quickly. When your website, invoices, social media, and signs all look and sound alike, you seem more reliable. When they do not, you seem smaller and less sure, however good the work is.

Branding gives you a clear idea of who you are and a way of showing it that anyone on your team can follow, from the first email to the biggest sign.

The difference

Scattered versus consistent

Here is the same business with and without a brand system.

Scattered versus consistent

Before: Without a system. Website: One blue, one style.; Documents: Another font and tone.; Social media: Different colors, different voice.. After: With a brand system. Website: Follows the guidelines.; Documents: Use the same templates.; Social media: Same colors, same voice..

Before

Without a system

Every channel is invented separately.

  • WebsiteOne blue, one style.
  • DocumentsAnother font and tone.
  • Social mediaDifferent colors, different voice.

After

With a brand system

One identity, one set of rules.

  • WebsiteFollows the guidelines.
  • DocumentsUse the same templates.
  • Social mediaSame colors, same voice.

Choosing the work

Refresh, rebuild, or define the system?

Brand work comes in three shapes. The right one depends on what has changed.

What best describes your situation?

Choose this when

Your foundations are sound, but the look feels dated or has drifted.

What you get
Updated visuals and clearer guidelines that keep what people already recognize.
Keep in mind
A refresh will not fix a message that no longer fits your audience.

What holds a brand together

Four things that make a brand work

Clear

  • People can say what you do in a sentence.
  • The message is the same across channels.

Distinct

  • You do not look or sound like everyone else.
  • You show what makes you different.

Consistent

  • Colors, type, and tone are used the same way.
  • Anyone on your team can follow the rules.

Flexible

  • It works on a business card and a billboard.
  • It can grow as your offer grows.

Worth knowing

Brand work is a partnership

We bring structure and craft, but you know your organization. The best results come when your team takes part early, shares what is true about the business, and tells us honestly what feels right.

We keep any existing brand assets you already have and want to keep, and build around them.

In practice

Where a brand shows up

People meet a brand in many small places: the sign on a door, an invoice, an email signature, a profile picture, a slide in a sales meeting, a delivery box. Each one is a chance to look consistent and professional, or to look as if several different organizations were involved.

A good brand system plans for these places in advance. It supplies a logo in the sizes and file types people actually need, a short list of colors with clear rules for which goes where, and fonts that are easy to install or already free to use. It also says what the brand sounds like: how formal, how warm, and which words you always use or never use.

The most useful part is often the simplest: example layouts that show the brand at work. A new colleague who needs a flyer or a proposal should be able to start from a template that is already correct, without asking anyone.

We also check the practical details that are easy to miss. Colors must have enough contrast to be read on screen and in print. Logos must still work in black and white and at small sizes. Names and descriptions must be written the same way everywhere, so people and search engines see one organization, not several. It also helps to name one person who owns the brand and answers questions, so decisions are made quickly and the rules do not drift.

Common questions

Questions about branding

Do we need a new logo?

Not always. Sometimes a logo works and the rest of the identity needs attention. We look at what you have and recommend the lightest change that solves the problem.

How long does a branding project take?

A logo and starter identity usually takes about a week and costs $1,200 to $3,000. A full identity with guidelines takes 2 to 3 weeks and costs $3,000 to $8,000. A rebrand with messaging and rollout takes 4 to 6 weeks.

Will you also design our website?

Yes. Our design and web development teams can carry the brand through to your site, so it looks and works as one.

Do we own the final designs?

Ownership is agreed in writing before work begins. We aim for you to receive the files you need to use the brand freely.

Can you help us write our message?

Yes. A clear message is part of the strategy. We help you say what you do in plain words.

How do we keep the brand consistent after launch?

With guidelines, templates, and a person who owns it. We can provide ongoing creative direction if you want help.
